Parents.

They are the people I take for granted the most. The people who I snap at when I've had a bad day. The ones who get "the pleasure" of hearing about a fight with friend or a bad day at work. The people who love me too much for my own good. The adults that I feel I can relate to the most. The ones I currently call my roommates, but are far more than that. The ones who I use to scream at when I got grounded. The ones I am so thankful for for grounding me. And trying their best to teach me right and wrong, even though they knew I would figure it out on my own. The people who instill confidence in me when I feel insignificant and self conscious. The Dad who would drive 3 hours to Tuscaloosa to have lunch with me....on his birthday. The Mom who drops everything she is doing to comfort me during a break-up.  The people I want to be exactly like when I grow up. My support system. The people I consult on every life changing decision I make. And the people I consult on many small and trivial decisions that feel life changing at the time. The ones who have taken me and my friends on too many beach trips to count. And who truly enjoy every moment of that. The father who gives in too easily when I find a handbag that I "really need." The mother who gave up a job that she loved because I hated going to After School Program when I was 5. The people who can take one look at me and know that something is wrong. But let me come to them when I'm ready. The ones who I want to kick back and have a beer with. And the people I want to sit in church with. The ones who never cease to amaze me with their strength, courage, confidence, ambitions, decisions, and ability to laugh and cry and admit when they're wrong. The people who try their hardest to treat me like an adult, even though I'm still their little girl. The people I know I can count on, no matter what.

I don't say it enough, but I am so blessed and so thankful for my parents.

The Memories Live On

The year Two Thousand Ten is coming to end, and what a year it was! So much has happened over the last twelve months, and I wanted to share with you some of my favorite memories....

The University of Alabama wins the BCS National Championship on January 7, 2010.
And I was there!
ROLL TIDE.

1407.
Loved my roommates. Loved the times we had in that house.

Spring Break.
My oh my what a fun trip! The weather was sub-par, but plenty of good times were had.
We laughed, we danced, we gambled.
Brooke karaoked to Cher.
Adam proposed to Ashley.
It was a wonderful trip with wonderful friends!

Senior Year...Our Final Sorority Date Parties.
Enough said.

Family Vacation in Western Europe.
An amazing experience with my incredible family.
I can't wait until I can go back!
London, England

Paris, France

Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Graduation.
My time at the Capstone ended in August.
It was a bittersweet moment, but something to celebrate and be proud of!

Visits to Tuscaloosa and Athens.
It is always an adventure to head back to campus for a football game.
And visiting friends in Athens is always a whirlwind!
The best times are those shared with the people you love.

Goodbye 2010. It's been real. Can't wait to see what 2011 brings!

It's A Wonderful Life

It's a Christmas classic and a film that me and my Dad watch every year.

Merry Christmas!

Give Thanks

It is the most wonderful time of the year! And no, I'm not talking about Christmas. I love Thanksgiving. It is my absolute favorite holiday. I look forward to Thanksgiving all year! Why, you ask? Well.....The food. Family. The weather--generally cold but not freezing. College football rivalry match-ups all weekend. No gifts. No stress. It is perfectly acceptable to take a nap after you feast. And lastly, it is a whole day centered around being thankful. I encourage everyone to enjoy your Thanksgiving and wait until after this wonderful day to start getting caught up in the whirlwind that is the Christmas season. And be sure to tell all the people you care about that you are thankful for them. It is just a few simple words that go a long way. And it's what Thanksgiving is all about.

I want to go back....

In May, I traveled with my family to the most amazing city on Earth--London. This city has so many wonderful things to offer: an incredibly fun and relaxed culture, great people, and a big city with a not-so-big city feel. And so.....I want to go back. I told my parents and my best friend B, I wanted to move there after graduation. Well, it's after graduation and I'm still living at home. Why? Fear. I am terrified of moving somewhere completely on my own. I cannot think of anything scarier. Even though London is home to some of the friendliest people I've ever come across, I can't imagine packing up and going overseas to LIVE. But, I have been thinking that maybe I should go back for a visit....Get a better feel for the city, make some connections, and then consider once again moving there for a year or so. Other than my amazing family and truly wonderful friends, I've got nothing holding me back. So, here are just a few things I love so much about London. Maybe reliving these memories will give me a push in the right direction. Annnd maybe these photos will convince you to come with me....
Need I say more? The most amazing one-stop-shop. Right in the middle of the city.

The Churchill Arms is such an amazing pub! It was packed with young happy hour-ers when we went for dinner and drinks. And the Thai food was superb!

I love relaxing in the beautiful parks.....

....and then hopping on the tube and heading to the
busy 'Times Square-esque' Picadilly Circus.

No, it's not just in Mary Poppins...there are real live women who "Feed the Birds"

It is normal for tourists and businessmen alike to enjoy a beer at lunch.
Can't do that in America.

The bathroom is called the "loo." Gotta love that.
